Affordable Luxury, Designed Around You
Luxury doesn't have to mean out of reach. At Elevate Design Studio, it means real materials, real craftsmanship, and designs built around your life — not a price point. We can design the same kitchen a hundred different ways, and we will, because every client's space, goals, and budget are different. What stays consistent is the standard we hold every project to, no matter the budget it's built around.
What Makes Us Different
-

Designers First
Every project starts with design, not a catalog. Nothing here is a template — layouts, materials, and finishes are built around your space and how you actually use it.
-

American-Made, Southern-Built
Our products are American-made, with a focus on Southern-made materials built to hold up in our regional climate — not imports built for somewhere else.
-

Real Materials, No Shortcuts
Real wood and solid construction, not particleboard cabinets or standard wire-rack closet systems. What goes into your home is built to last, not just to look good on day one.
-

Hands-On, Start to Finish
Mike and Scott stay involved on every project — not handed off to a rotating team. You work directly with the people who care most about getting it right.
-

Every Budget, Same Standard
Luxury isn't reserved for the biggest budgets here. Whether it's a full remodel or a single room, every client gets the same materials, the same craftsmanship, and the same design-first approach.
A father-and-son team, both designers first.
The People Behind Elevate
Elevate Design Studio is led by Mike and Scott Childs — a father-and-son duo who built the business around one shared belief: design comes first. Together, they bring a combined 67 years of experience in custom cabinet design, and as a family-owned studio, every client works directly with the people who care most about getting it right.
As proud members of the West Tennessee Home Builders Association, Mike and Scott stay hands-on with every project — every layout, every material choice — bringing high-quality, trusted design and installation to homes across Jackson, Memphis, and Nashville.
The full walk-through, from your first visit to the day we hand you the keys.
What It's Like to Work With Us
The homepage gives you the short version. Here's the whole thing — every stage a project actually moves through, start to finish.
-
Most projects start with a walk through our showroom, including our live working kitchen — the only one of its kind in the area. This isn't a sales floor; it's a working space, so you're seeing and touching the same materials and construction that will end up in your home, not a display model built to look good under showroom lighting.
-
We sit down and talk — about your space, how you actually use it day to day, what's frustrating you about it now, and what your budget looks like. This conversation shapes everything that follows, so we'd rather spend real time here than rush to a proposal that doesn't fit.
-
This is where most companies hand you off to a drafter you'll never meet. Here, Mike and Scott stay on the project themselves — sketching, adjusting, and refining the design with you until it actually feels right, not just measures right. Expect more than one round of changes; that's the point of this stage, not a sign something went wrong.
-
Once the design is set, we walk through materials together — real wood species, finishes, hardware, and countertops, with a focus on American-made and Southern-made products built for our climate. You'll see and touch samples before anything is ordered, so there are no surprises when the real thing arrives.
-
Your cabinetry is built specifically for your project — not pulled from a warehouse shelf. This is where real wood construction and careful joinery actually happen, and it's also where a lot of the "why does custom cost more than stock" question answers itself once you see the difference in person.
-
Every project is professionally installed by an experienced cabinet installer. Mike and/or Scott personally prepare the final punch list, and any necessary adjustments are completed before the project is considered finished.
Product warranties range from 10 years to limited lifetime coverage for the original purchaser, depending on the product.
From the everyday rooms to the ones nobody else designs for.
